THE TRADITION OF BERBER OLIVE HARVESTING
Sustainability for 2500 years
Our unique Berber olive harvesting method, practiced for over 2,500 years, is not only environmentally friendly, but also a true treasure of sustainability. In doing so, we use horns that have naturally fallen off of goats or sheep to gently grasp the olives and gently release them from the tree. This biological method minimizes waste and preserves the integrity of the tree. In this way we ensure a selective harvest, picking only the olives without damaging the leaves.

We are careful to respect the natural cycle of our 10,000 organic olive trees. In harvesting, we rely on traditional manual labor that does not harm the trees or the environment. This means that we do not use any additives or chemicals or pesticides and our trees thrive in harmony with nature.

Our responsibility for the environment is also reflected in our packaging. We consistently use sustainable materials such as glass bottles to reduce the environmental impact to a minimum.

Our harvesting takes place in the early morning hours to ensure that no songbirds are harmed. According to recent studies (DA SILVA/MATA 2019), night harvesting can endanger and kill about 2.7 million animals per year.

In addition, we use natural pest controllers. These natural enemies of pests are effective plant protectors and help keep our trees and the environment healthy. Their use promotes the natural cycle in the soil, as they also act as the main fertilizer producers.
